Toledo
Toledo is so well preserved that the government of Spain has forbidden any modern exterior remodeling. It was the Visigothic capital in 554 AD and the capital of Spain until 1561. It's history is a rich mix of Roman, Visigothic, Jewish, Moorish and Christian, which pretty much guaranteed 2,000 years of complication. Toledo can be reached by train or a one hour drive from Madrid. These pictures were taken on a pleasant Spring day in April 1998.
Do Not Adjust Your Set: These pictures were taken in between 1997 and 1999 with a first generation digital camera. They are as big and as good as they'll ever get.
