Sevilla
In the South of Spain is one of its major cities, Sevilla. Rick Steves describes Sevilla like this ... "This is the flamboyant city of Carmen and Don Juan, where bullfighting is still politically correct and where little girls still grow up to be flamenco dancers ... It's a great-to-be-alive kind of place."
It is about a 5 to 6 hour drive from Madrid, but a more interesting way to go there is via the bullet train. 2 hours, city center to center, and if it's late, it's free. The photos of Sevilla were taken in the Spring of 1999.
The Casa de Pilatos is the residence of the Dukes of Medinaceli and one of the finest palaces in Spain. It was built beginning in 1529 and celebrates a Moorish architecture.
