Dublin 2001
One of the great things about my job is the opportunity I have to travel. On a July 2001 business trip to Dublin, I had a chance to see some of the city. And with my wife, had a chance to see some of the surrounding country side.
Dublin is a city of 1 million people in a country of 3 million. It is lively, clean, safe (mostly) and compact. Most of what you'll want to see is within walking distance and a car is a liability. Cities are cities and in many ways mostly alike. Still, we enjoyed a few days here.
According to the guidebooks Dublin in July would expect an average temperature of 68 degrees, see an average of 5 hours of sunshine each day, and receive 2 1/2 inches of rain during the month. Guess what? The guide book's are bang on. Bring your umbrella and a jacket and be prepared for highly variable weather.
