Roussillon 2002

This is a full day. Villiage des Bories, Gordes ... and now Roussillon. This is another hill town built on red ochre cliffs. Nothing about the town will stop the world but it's a pleasant place to spend part of an afternoon. These pictures were taken in April 2002.

Here's the village as seen from the cliffs across a small valley.
The cliffs are deep red and are laced with walking trails. At this hour, late in the afternoon, the light and shadows create a dramatic effect.
Here's the town square. This early in the spring, the trees are just beginning to leaf out.
