Paris Airshow 1999
Unlike many Air Shows, the Paris Air Show is a working show, self-described as "the world's largest and most influential aerospace event." Open to the public Monday, Saturday and Sunday, the rest of the week it is where commercial and military aircraft are bought and sold. Want to buy a cruise missile? Laser guided bombs? Stealth technology? No problem. Like a world's fair, the show has national pavilions where countries show off their best and brightest innovations. While these aspects are fascinating, I found the traditional air show flying a little disappointing.
