Rabat
Going north along the coast road, Rabat is only 90 minutes from Casablanca. That 90 minutes is also a journey through time. Gone are the tall buildings, the wide streets, and cosmopolitan atmosphere. Rabat of today traces much of its history to around 1500. At that time, the Muslims were being expelled from Iberia by the Christian reconquest of Spain. Many settled here. The main business of the city became piracy.
