So Long - We Barely Knew You
So long, Dean. Good by, Felix. We just saw the last of Noel.
And it’s just as well. Dean killed 32 people. Felix killed 130. And sweet Noel killed 160 good folks. If you’re a hurricane, you’d best be on your good behavior. The regional NOAA hurricane committee names hurricanes from a list that rotates every 6 years. If you’re a bad hurricane, the committee will remove your name from the list ... which is what happened recently to Dean, Felix and poor Noel. Since 1953 when tropical storms were first named, 70 names have been “retired.” News you can use!
